Just got back from our trip to see Em’s family in Alabama… where it rained every day. Any other time I’d say that’s a vacation I’d want to forget.. but not this one. We had a great time… the girls loved it and didn’t want to leave. They loved the pool… the pool with 75 degree water! That water didn’t seem to phase them… Karlie would never really say she was cold even though her body was constantly shaking.  Emily and Erin braved the water with them a couple times. Dave and his phone got in once. Dave survived… not sure about the phone.

The girls love Erin to death… they wanted to know where Erin was all the time. They still haven’t said more than 3 words to Shawn. I’m not sure they ever said anything to Dave… and Dave is a talker.. they just weren’t having it.

abs and arms

So… Emily started going to an abs and arms class at the rec center a couple weeks ago. Her arms already look ripped! She probably already looks better than the instructor.

I on the other hand, have not been going to an abs and arms class, or… doing much of anything for that matter. Jogging to the fridge occasionally, running up the steps to give Reese her pacifier at 10 oclock at night.. that’s pretty much my workouts lately. And guess what – that doesn’t work!

So last night, I decided I was going to get up early and go for a run… and I did.. got up at 5:45 am…… AM! and went for a run. It was a short run. Around the block, maybe a mile… probably more like 3/4 of a mile. ANYWAY… it was a run and it actually wasn’t bad at all.. the getting up part that is. The running part kicked my butt… which is sad. So I have to keep it up… especially if I want to keep pace with miss abs and arms.

Reese loves it when we let her roam freely in Tristan and Karlie’s bedroom. She never knows what she is going to find. Here, she’s found a little corner of “heaven.”

2. I did not get so tired at work that I fell asleep at my desk and woke up with drool dripping down onto my pants. No way, no how!
3. I did not spill a bottle of hot pink nail polish all over the bathroom floor and rug. Do you think I’m a klutz or something?!?
4. I did not give Reese 1 million kisses while having a nasty cold. Don’t want to spread those germs!!

Last week…

1. I did not accidentally let Reese chew on Ruby’s toy. How unsanitary would that be?!? Yuck!
2. I did not yell LOUDLY on the phone to Tim when parking services, a closed road, and 5,000 students crossing the street made me late for work. I have too much patience to let things like that bother me.
3. I did not eat oreos and milk every day. Only healthy food for me.
4. I did not bring a treat for Karlie after school and end up eating it myself before I picked her up. I have more self control than that.

I hope you enjoyed my first “Not Me! Monday.” Stay tuned for next weeks’. And I’ll try to have it on the right day next time.

New trick.

Last night, Reese realized that she can do something new! She can go from laying down to sitting up on her own. This means when we lay her down in her crib to go to sleep, if she doesn’t want to lay down…she sits up. So we lay her down, and she sits up. Repeat. Tee hee, she smiles and thinks it’s funny. Grrrr.
